Series of 3 artist books by Marie Ségolène

First Edition, 2016

Marie Ségolène’s work explores both physical boundaries and mark making through ritualistic performance work and multi-media installations.
Through a combination of organic materials such as wood, leather and earth, as well as reoccurring symbolisms taken from the bible and BDSM subcultures, the artist attempts to deconstruct notions related to identity, vulnerability and femininity.
Largely inspired by the writings of Charles Olsen and Daphne Marlatt, this series of artist books explores the feminist body within history – an attempt at finding the locus of female resilience and strength, within the artist’s identity and body.
